Project Goal
Pathmate tackles common challenges in finding classrooms and other locations by providing seamless indoor navigation, while also serving as a real-time communication tool that updates users on campus events, sports scores, and restaurant wait times. Through extensive user research, I designed a user-friendly interface and a cohesive brand identity, developing a proof-of-concept prototype that highlights the app's potential.
This project not only allowed me to apply UX/UI design principles to solve real-world problems but also showcased my passion for using design to enhance everyday experiences.
Design Approach
My design approach for Pathmate was rooted in creating a seamless, accessible, and engaging user experience. For Typography, I selected SF Pro to maintain a sleek, contemporary feel across the interface, ensuring all navigation and information were clear and easy to read. The Color Palette is defined by a distinctive primary set—Persian Blue, Scarlet, and Jonquil—which adds a bright, energetic, and recognizable brand identity to the app, making key elements stand out. Throughout the interface, I used custom Components like the search bar, buttons, and notification panels, which employ clean lines and a clear hierarchy to provide intuitive interaction. The User-Centered Layout was structured to deliver real-time communication and seamless indoor navigation, maximizing accessibility for students and visitors to find classrooms and engage with campus offerings effortlessly.
